Once Forgotten by livingindarkness Once Forgotten by livingindarkness
Okay, one more deviation I am going to bore you with tonight. This is the abandoned house. I am curious of it's history and why it has been abandoned. Obviously, we are not the only people that stop there to look at it because on the way back there were more people exploring it. So it is once forgotten by someone yet not forgotten by us and others that are curious about it. The only thing that bothers me is that someone broke out most of the windows since we were last there. Oh well, people are mean sometimes.

This shot was once again taken in night shot mode with a Hoya 72 infrared filter and a sony DSC-707 digital camera. Some post coloring in potatoshop. If you ever want to try out infrared photography and want to know how to get it to look right in potatoshop just ask me. I think I am starting to get the hang of it finally. I did alot of research before actually going out and trying this stuff. Weeeeee!

great set, great picture!

the song "Abseits des Lichtes" (aside the light) from the German group "Goethes Erben" comes to my mind...
this picture fit's right in. In case I find a english translation I poste the link...

in schattigen Winkeln ohne Glas.

Zurück bleibt das alte Haus
Stiller Zeuge und Ursprung dieser Nacht
Keiner applaudiert
Keiner sieht ihre Schönheit
Keiner sieht ihre Tränen
Keiner sieht ihre Maske - die zerbricht
Sie tanzt weiter
Bis der Vorhang zum letzten Mal fällt.

Lol potatoshop. ;) I've always wondered how people get that blurry hazy look to their photos. I really love how this came out. Great subject to, it almost makes you wonder what type of people lived there.

Ahhh! SCARY! It reminds me of the house in texas chainsaw massacre (which scared the living s*** out of me!) Yet, it is very pretty. I especially like what you wrote at the bottom. It kind of pulls it together. Very well done!

Where did you pick up your filters, and adapter ring at? I need to pick some up for my Mavica, and I'm not sure where to look.

I like the look of the picture, and would like to try out the infrared look some myself.

I had to order my neutral density filters from [link] and my Hoya 72 infrared filter I got from [link] I was lucky to find a Tiffin 87 infrared filter from cord camera on fifth avenue. You have to goto that one cause the other cords have an awful selection of filters. It was an $80 filter on sale for $40 but it was the wrong size so I had to go to Midwest Camera on High Street to get a step up ring.

I did alot of research before I got started and here is one of the webpages that I found that helped me out: [link] and another: [link]
I hope this helps.
